“They have perfected a seamless blend of vocal instrument and stringed
instrument (since ‘94). Julie is a singer that takes chances: she is a stylist
that seeks an original twist on everything she performs. Kelly’s versatility on
the guitar allows him the freedom to swing from blues to bebop, rock to
classical and back without losing the beat or the feeling.”
Heat Beat Michael Mattox
“Outstanding jazz voice and guitar” ALLABOUTJAZZ.COM
“Brazen Excellence! This duo breathes and thinks as one. Dow’s guitar is
positively orchestral in support while Davis’ scatting suggests she probably
learned in her bassinet.” Cadence Magazine
“Soul Times Two” City Link Magazine Annual Music Issue

“Outstanding!...The hairs are standing up on the back of my neck.”
Ed Bell WLRN
“Julie Davis is a confident young singer with compelling stage presence...she
has a a wry kittenish voice with claws...Kelly Dow, is a brilliant guitarist who
chooses unexpected chords and arrangements… their music is full of excitement.”
Sun-Sentinel Matt Schudel
“Soul Times Two”… “Julie Davis’ sensual purr is used to great effect as she goes
from coquettish to introspective, accompanied by Kelly Dow’s multi-textured
playing. Standards are revived, but Davis and Dow’s love for the music and
sterling chops keep them from sounding routine. is also an engaging performer,
and we guarantee you won’t take your eyes off the charismatic singer...The real
thing, (they are) deeply rooted in the classic jazz tradition but with a
playfulness that keeps the music fresh and fun.”
City Link Music Issue Bob Weinberg
“We loved your music and we thank you for allowing us to feel your soul. It was
an EVENT!!”

Ocean Drive Magazine
Wonderful performance!...Everyone truly enjoyed your style and repertoire...you
got the whole room humming and tapping toes-even to the point where people
wanted to jump up on stage and sing with you! You definitely reached a common
musical denominator with our guests. Davis and Dow will certainly be at the top
of our list for future events. We look forward to hearing your music over and
over again.” The March of Dimes
“Utterly Charming” Savannah Morning News
“Julie Davis is everything from scat singer to balladeer and can go from a
whisper to scream faster than a Ferrari can go 0 to 60… jazz duos are rare;
one’s this good are jewels.” Jazzizz Magazine Bill

Davis and Dow were AMAZING! We are going to look at having them back to do a
swing night later in the term. These musicians were so professional and
talented. Their performance was a perfect combination of education and
entertainment - it introduced the students to a music form that they might not
have been previously familiar with, and got rave reviews from the students
(including myself), faculty, & staff that were more familiar with the genre. I
just can't say enough about these entertainers! My only regret: I didn't get an
autograph so that when they are famous (and with skills like they have, it's
only a matter of time...) I can say "I remember when..." Robert Goodwin—

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your "Jazz Divas" show that you
performed at PSU DuBois. My three children were ENTHRALLED with your
performance. I knew that the boys would really be digging Kelly's guitar, but
honestly, as much as I love jazz, especially the performances derived from the
wonderful women of jazz who cleaved their voices to the music so well, becoming
an instrument (and manipulating it as skillfully as they and you do), I wasn't
sure if they would share my enthusiasm for your (Julie) singing. When I asked
each of them after your performance how they liked it, I expected something
lukewarm from at least one of them. No way - if they were writing your review,
you would have received five stars and three inch headlines. They LOVED it. I
would like to thank you for the time you took, both of you, to speak with my
children. You two seem like great people, and I'm sure that our four lives are
just a few among many that you've touched.
